Basic Life Support

This informal course is ideal as an introduction to first aid or as a yearly refresher for the more advanced 3-year accredited courses.

The Basic Life Support qualification will give learners the skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical lifesaving assistance until support arrives. 
 
The qualification is delivered following the protocols set by the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.

Minimum of 3 hours

A range of subjects are covered including: 
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) 
• Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) 
• Primary Survey 
• Recovery position 
• Choking Procedures

A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age.

Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, and a 12 Month qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.
